The St. Vincent de Paul Society is essentially a lay apostolate that has branches in most of the parishes of the archdiocese. The total membership from all the conferences throughout the archdiocese is approximately 1,200 members.

Substance abuse programme and other addictions

Many parish communities have programmes that allow the local chapters of the Narcotics Anonymous and the Alcoholics Anonymous to use some part of the parish property for weekly meetings.

There is a programme run by The New Life Ministries at the former Abbey School, Mt. St. Benedict aimed at the rehabilitation of addicts (alcohol and narcotics).
