Family Life - FAQ about the Family Life Units (FLU)

QUESTION ANSWER
What is the role of the FLU? The FLU is an outreach of the AFLC operating within the parish and responsible for its own administration, programmes delivery and limited programme development.
Where will it be physically located? Administration will ideally operate from the FLU desk in the Presbytery or an appropriate PARISH location. The delivery of services etc. will take place from suitable location/s within the parish community.
(1)   How will it be managed and    (2) What are some of the services to be offered? 1.     Management is via a working Committee led by the FLU Coordinator/Chairperson etc. with administrative support from other parish members; the Parish Priest remains the final authority.  The working committee can comprise members of other groups/organizations e.g. Couples for Christ, Teams of Our Lady, Marriage Encounter or any interested persons.
2.     Whatever programs the parish identifies as necessary to meet the needs of family life in that Parish Community, e.g. Workshops, seminars, family counseling, family days etc.
What role do support groups play? They provide critical follow-up in terms of emotional and other support to participants of programmes etc. They also serve as important resource entities.
What’s the role of the AFLC Office? We provide and implement several programs annually which any parishioner/parish can access according to their needs. We also provide support services e.g. training, library services and administrative support.
